Carpenter – Full-Time, Permanent

Luxor Shades Corp. is seeking a skilled Carpenter to perform interior and finish carpentry, installation, renovation, maintenance and repair work at various residential and commercial job sites throughout Metro Vancouver.

The position currently includes a significant focus on on-site measuring, fitting and installation of built-in closet and storage components as part of interior finishing projects, along with a broader range of carpentry duties.

Key Responsibilities

- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate carpentry requirements.
- Take accurate on-site measurements and prepare layouts using measuring tools in accordance with project specifications and applicable building requirements.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join wood, wood substitutes and other construction materials.
- Perform interior and finish carpentry work for residential and commercial construction and renovation projects.
- Measure, fit and install built-in closet and storage components as part of interior finishing work at job sites.
- Fit and install trim and finishing components, including doors, mouldings, baseboards and hardware.
- Make necessary on-site cuts, adjustments and modifications to ensure components fit properly and are level, aligned and securely installed.
- Maintain, repair and renovate residential and commercial structures and wood components.
- Inspect completed carpentry and installation work to ensure compliance with measurements, drawings, specifications and quality standards.




- Estimate materials and labour requirements for assigned carpentry work.
- Safely operate measuring equipment, hand tools, power tools and other standard carpentry equipment.
- Handle and move construction materials and components as required.
- Travel regularly to various residential and commercial job sites throughout Metro Vancouver.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow established workplace and construction-site safety procedures.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and coordinate with other workers and trades as required.

Requirements
- 2 years to less than 3 years of relevant carpentry or construction experience.
- Experience with on-site measuring, cutting, fitting and installation.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, measurements and project specifications.
- Experience using carpentry hand and power tools.
- Solid attention to detail and ability to perform accurate finish work.
- Valid driver’s licence, own vehicle and reliable transportation to various job sites.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, bending, crouching, kneeling and handling construction materials.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- English language proficiency required.

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time Expected Hours: 40–44 hours per week

Pay: $72,800.00-$93,600.00 per year
