Plant Mechanic (Full Time)

The successful candidate requires the ability to work independently and with a team to perform a wide variety of skilled mechanical duties to install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment and facilities.
Responsibilities
- The role involves working hands‑on with rotating equipment—including pumps, gearboxes, compressors—disassembling and reassembling to repair or replace components such as bearings, seals, and gears.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain rotating equipment and related mechanical systems, including compressors, pumps, blowers, and valves.
- Install, repair, and maintain high‑pressure piping systems, both threaded and welded.
- Conduct preventive and reactive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System to plan, schedule, and execute maintenance activities.
- Coordinate parts, complete scheduled tasks, and follow through on required next steps.
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance activities in the system.
- Combine technical hands‑on work with strong organization and documentation to keep operations running smoothly.
Qualifications
- Certified Alberta journeyperson in a relevant trade such as Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) or Electrician.
- Approximately 3+ years of hands‑on experience in an industrial maintenance workplace.
- Experience with welding, PLCs, instrumentation,
heavy‑duty mechanical work, or cryogenic pumps is a strong asset.
- Comfortable reading and interpreting technical drawings.
