Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care and supporting the clinical operations of the practice. The Certified Dental
Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring smooth workflow, maintaining high standards of safety and hygiene, and supporting the overall success of the practice.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures, including restorative, orthodontic, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring all materials are ready for procedures.
- Manage patient records accurately using dental software such as Dentrix and Epic, including scheduling appointments and updating medical histories.
- Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist by greeting patients, answering queries, and coordinating appointment logistics.
- Educate patients on post-treatment care, oral hygiene practices, and treatment plans to promote optimal oral health outcomes.
- Support orthodontic procedures by taking impressions, fabricating appliances using CAD technology, and assisting with adjustments.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and OSHA regulations to ensure a safe clinical environment.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline operations and enhance patient experience through effective communication and teamwork.
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Dental Assistant from an accredited program; experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred.
- Proficiency in dental software systems such "Dentrix" and "Dexis" for x-rays, progress notes, scheduling, record keeping, and billing purposes.
- Experience working as a dental receptionist or in front-office administration within a dental practice is advantageous.
- Solid understanding of medical terminology relevant to dental care and patient documentation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly with patients of all ages, including children in pediatric settings.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a busy clinical environment while maintaining attention to detail.
