Role Description The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a part-time, hybrid role based in Toronto, ON, with a mix of on-site collaboration and work-from-home flexibility. The CFO will oversee financial strategy, budgeting, fundraising, and forecasting, ensuring strong alignment with the company’s growth objectives and capital needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing financial reporting and analysis, reviewing financial statements, monitoring cash flow, and advising on fundraising, investment, and risk management decisions.





The CFO will establish and refine financial controls, policies, and processes appropriate for a high-growth startup, while partnering closely with the executive team on strategic planning. This role will also involve supporting board and investor communications, preparing financial presentations, and contributing to long-term business planning and performance optimization.

Qualifications

Strong finance and financial planning skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial modeling.

Expertise in financial statements and financial reporting, with the ability to produce accurate, timely reports and insights.

Advanced analytical skills, including data-driven decision making and scenario analysis.

Experience leading finance functions in startups, technology, or construction-related industries is highly beneficial.

Proven track record in cash flow management, capital raising, and investor or board communication.

Knowledge of Canadian accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.

Robust leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and commercial teams.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; CPA, CFA, or MBA is an asset.
