Salary range: $120,0000 - $150,000

The Chief Program Officer (CPO) provides visionary and strategic leadership for all programmatic initiatives at Hope and Healing, ensuring that programs are effective, scalable, mission-aligned, and deliver measurable impact for children with disabilities and their families.

As a member of the executive leadership team, the CPO integrates operational excellence with spiritual integrity, ensuring that Hope and Healing’s work reflects compassion, dignity, stewardship, and Christ-centered service in every community served. This role bridges strategy and implementation, ensuring that program growth is both compassionate and data-driven

Core Leadership Responsibilities

Program Strategy & Vision

- Develop and implement a multi-year global program strategy aligned with organizational mission and growth goals.
- Identify opportunities to scale existing programs and launch new initiatives.
- Ensure programs remain responsive to community needs and global best practices.
- Provide thought leadership in disability-inclusive development.

Spiritual Leadership & Mission Integration The CPO plays a vital role in safeguarding and nurturing the spiritual foundation of Hope and Healing’s work. This includes:

- Ensuring programs reflect the organization’s faith-driven values of compassion, justice, humility, and love in action.
- Modeling servant leadership and Christ-like character in all internal and external relationships.
- Encouraging a culture of prayerful discernment in strategic planning and decision-making.
- Supporting staff spiritual formation and fostering an environment where faith and service are integrated with excellence.
- Ensuring programs honor the dignity of every child and family as image-bearers of God.
- Representing the organization as a faith-based leader in global humanitarian and development spaces.

Program Quality & Impact

- Establish standards for program excellence and measurable outcomes.
- Oversee monitoring, evaluation, learning, and reporting systems.
- Ensure all programs demonstrate clear impact, sustainability, and stewardship.
- Strengthen evidence-based decision-making across program teams.

Global Partnerships & Field Engagement

- Build and steward relationships with international partners, ministries, hospitals,



and local organizations.
- Provide oversight and support to country partners and program leads.
- Ensure alignment between headquarters strategy and field implementation.
- Represent Hope and Healing in strategic global forums and partnerships.

Operational Leadership

- Oversee program budgets, resource allocation, and compliance requirements.
- Ensure program operations meet regulatory, ethical, and organizational standards.
- Collaborate with finance and development teams to align program planning with funding realities.
- Strengthen systems that support program efficiency and scalability.

Team Leadership & Capacity Building

- Lead, mentor, and develop program staff and field leaders.
- Build a culture of excellence, humility, collaboration, and innovation.
- Establish clear goals, performance metrics, and accountability structures.
- Strengthen internal leadership pipelines within program teams.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Partner with Development and Marketing teams to translate program impact into compelling donor communications.
- Support grant proposals, reports, and impact narratives.
- Provide program insights to inform organizational strategy and decision-making.

Working conditions:

- Regular domestic and international travel is required, including travel to countries where we operate programs, develop partnerships, and engage donors and funding partners.

Education requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in international development or a related field.

Language of work:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Skills requirements:





- At least 10 years proven experience in international programs, global health, development, or humanitarian work.
- 5 or more years of experience in a leadership role and managing staff.
- Experience in working in a not-for-profit environment.
- Experience in international programs at a director level or above.
- Demonstrated success managing complex, multi-country initiatives.
- Robust strategic thinking and execution ability.
- Proven ability to lead diverse teams and partnerships.
- Excellent communication and cross-cultural leadership skills.
- Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
- Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.
- Ability to think strategically.
- Structured and organized, but a creative thinker.

Preferred:
- Experience in disability programming, rehabilitation, or child-focused development.
- Advanced degree in public health, international development, social policy, or related field.
- Experience working in low-resource settings.
- Familiarity with faith-based nonprofit environments.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated project development experience.
- Ability to operate effectively in cross cultural environments.
- Knowledge of international development landscape and trends.
- Knowledge of disability inclusive development principles.
