Purpose Contributes to the overall success of Canadian Business Banking by executing and delivering business strategies, ensuring all activities comply with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities
Identify prospects in target markets and develop sales pipelines.
Conduct prospect sales calls, qualify opportunities based on customer information, and maintain a high level of due diligence.
Ensure effective relationship management and conduct sales planning to fulfill service execution for existing customers.
Perform analysis and complete credit applications.
Champion a client‑driven culture by deepening client relationships and leveraging broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
Develop and implement a marketing strategy to maximize business development opportunities for sustainable growth.
Develop sales plans for prospects and existing customers, identify prospects/referrals, and analyze prospect lists to prioritize opportunities based on market data and customer analytics.
Partner with internal resources for non‑credit related products and refer customers to appropriate Canadian Business Banking segments and partners.
Maintain an appropriate ongoing sales pipeline and calling program, and perform follow‑up with prospects or referrals on any unsuccessful opportunities.
Maintain accurate and timely client contact information.
Build and maintain a market profile through relationship activities, local market awareness, and participation in professional and community events.
Manage an assigned credit portfolio for authorizations up to $25MM, completing credit reviews, authorizing, renewing, or declining requests within standard Bank policies, and preparing required documentation.
Ensure accounts adhere to conditions of authorization, resolve deviations, identify problem loans, and maintain accurate risk ratings.
Onboard clients by completing due diligence to understand the client’s business and expected activity.
Support a culture of diversity and other strategic initiatives aligned with the Bank’s goals.
Understand and incorporate the Bank’s risk appetite and culture in day‑to‑day activities and decisions.
Dimensions
Robust organizational skills required to manage diverse data and balance multiple tasks.
Primary interaction with internal partners such as Global Risk Management, Business Service Center, Enhanced Due Diligence Unit, CRA, and others.
External interactions include solicitors, accountants, professional service providers, and possibly external bank groups.
Work is fast‑paced and may require priority adjustment for urgent requests.
Education / Experience / Other Information Education
Undergraduate degree in business or economics or equivalent work experience.
Additional training as determined by the Bank.
Skills/Work Experience
At least three to four years of experience in Agriculture banking.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of Bank’s commercial lending and deposit products and services.
Ability to conduct due diligence on customer financials for lower to moderate complexity deals.
Comprehensive knowledge of the commercial banking marketplace in Canada.
Strong networking and negotiation skills.
Working Conditions
Standard office‑based environment; non‑standard hours are common.
Travel within the assigned territory required, and a vehicle is necessary.
Open to the Kemptville/Ottawa/Casselman and Renfrew areas.
