Position: Client Support Worker

Wage: $26.46/hour

Hours: 32 hours/week

About SWC The Sudbury Women’s Centre (SWC) is a community-based nonprofit organization that supports women, girls, and gender-diverse individuals who have experienced violence or other challenging life situations. We offer programs and services that promote safety, healing, connection, and empowerment through trauma-informed support, resource navigation, group programming, and community partnerships.

This position will support the planning and delivery of a one-year job readiness program in partnership with Spark Employment Services, aimed at building skills and employment readiness for participants with past intimate partner violence or gender-based violence experience. Candidates with lived experience are encouraged to apply, as their perspectives can enhance our ability to serve the community effectively.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide one-on-one support to clients, including intake, resource navigation, and follow-up
- Facilitate or co-facilitate workshops and group programs in a safe, inclusive environment
- Plan and coordinate small events and program activities
- Support the planning and delivery of a structured job readiness program in partnership with SPARK
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with organizations, businesses, and community groups
- Research and identify collaboration opportunities aligned with SWC’s mission
- Act as a liaison between SWC and external partners to ensure clear communication and coordination
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for reporting purposes
- Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery
- Participate in community outreach initiatives and events
- Attend community meetings as required

Qualifications

- Diploma in Social Service Work or a related field (required)
- Minimum 1 year experience in social services or a related role (required)




- Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed care and client-centered support, particularly in relation to gender-based violence
- Experience in workplace rights and/or women’s rights is considered an asset
- Compassionate, patient, and approachable
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Detail-oriented and effective
- Mental Health First Aid certification is considered an asset

Additional Information

- Reports to the Program Manager
- Schedule: 32 hours/week, primarily Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, with Tuesday evenings for programming 8:30-8:30
- Occasional travel within the community (expenses reimbursed per SWC policy)
- Facilitation of workshops and programming is a core responsibility

Requirements

- Valid driver’s licence (required)
- Must have access to a reliable vehicle to support program delivery at off-site locations
- Willingness to travel locally (up to 25%)
- Work location: In person (Greater Sudbury, ON P3E 1G1)
