About WellMind Counselling

WellMind Counselling is an established trauma counselling agency serving Kamloops and the wider BC community. Our team is known for providing thoughtful, inclusive, and affirming care grounded in trauma-informed and anti-oppressive principles.

Our founder, Cecile, is an Approved Clinical Supervisor who provides support and mentorship within the agency. As an award winning business owner, Cecile enjoys setting up systems and processes that allow you to show up, see your clients and then go leave, while we handle the rest on the back end. We also have a strong and growing social media presence, allowing us to actively market our clinicians and help them build full caseloads quickly, without the pressure of self-promotion.

As our referral volume continues to grow, we’re looking for a new clinician to join our in-person team in Kamloops.

Position Summary

We are seeking an inclusive, affirming clinician who would like to be part of a collaborative, trauma-informed team.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide high-quality, in-person trauma counselling services.

While some of the caseload will be individual adults, we are especially interested in clinicians who:

- Work with children or youth, or
- Are open to learning and growing in this area

We are looking for a clinician who holds a relevant master’s degree and brings strong experience in the helping field which includes clinical work, related professional roles, or other meaningful experience supporting people. In order for clients to access counselling through their extended health, we are only able to accept applications from clinicians with a Master's Degree and registered with applicable licensing body.

This role offers flexibility, autonomy,

and the ability to shape your own work-life balance. You’ll benefit from steady referrals, mentorship, and the support of a team, while maintaining the freedom to work in a way that feels authentic to you and your clients.

This is a primarily in-person role.

Hybrid work is available for any virtual clients, but this will be a small portion of the case load and fully remote candidates will not be considered.

The ideal candidate will have evening and/or weekend availability.

Responsibilities

- Provide professional trauma-informed counselling services to clients
- Maintain confidential, accurate, and timely client records
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards
- Participate in supervision, peer consultation, and ongoing professional development

What We Offer

- Competitive contractor split aligned with industry standards. Rate based on level of experience
- Steady stream of referrals: we have requests for sessions at times that our current team does not have capacity for
- Done-for-you marketing through our strong online presence and community reputation
- Included support with an approved supervisor
- Optional bi-weekly peer consultation
- A supportive, values-driven team workplace
- A beautiful, thoughtfully designed office space
- Efficient systems and admin processes: no chasing payments or scrambling to set things up; we take care of all of this!

- Flexibility and autonomy in how you work with clients
- Team trainings (partially or fully covered by WellMind)
- Team gatherings, retreats, and connection opportunities

Work Schedule & Caseload

- Flexible scheduling based on client, clinician and room availability. Ideal candidate will have evening and/or weekend availability.
- Minimum caseload of 10 clients per week. Maximum of as many as you'd like!
- Opportunity to build a larger caseload based on your preferences.
- This position can work well for someone looking to transition into private practice or supplement another job, or for someone looking to take on private practice as a full-time role.

Requirements

- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Counselling, Social Work)
- Registered with a recognized professional body (e.g., BCACC, CCPA, BCCSW)
- Commitment to trauma-informed, inclusive, and affirming care
- Willingness to work primarily in person in Kamloops
- Openness to working with, or learning to work with, children and youth

We are more interested in finding the right fit than filling the role on a strict timeline. We welcome applicants with a range of experience, including newer clinicians who bring strong relevant experience and a desire to grow. Not Sure If This Is the Right Fit?

If you’re curious about the role and would like to ask any questions, feel free to send me an e-mail! I can be reached at [email protected]

Looking forward to connecting!

Pay: $90.00-$112.00 per hour
