ACG Saws and Tools is an Ottawa-based company that designs and manufactures equipment for the concrete cutting industry. We operate our own manufacturing and product development facility in Ottawa's east end and are looking for a full-time CNC Machinist / CNC Operator to join our team.
We are looking for someone with 1–5 years of machining or CNC experience who has a valuable understanding of the basics and is interested in continuing to learn and develop their skills.
You do not need to be an expert. We are willing to train and develop the right person, but candidates should have previous hands-on experience in a machining or CNC environment.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret drawings, setup sheets, and work instructions
- Prepare materials for machining
- Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes
- Run production parts
- Monitor critical dimensions and inspect finished parts
- Use measuring and inspection tools to verify part quality
- Document measurements and production information
- Deburr and clean machined parts
- Perform basic machine maintenance, including checking oil and coolant
- Maintain clean and organized machines and work areas
- Assist with assembly work when required
- Work with other team members to meet production requirements and deadlines

The ideal candidate
- Has approximately 1–5 years of CNC machining, machining, or related shop experience
- Has experience operating CNC mills and/or lathes
- Can read and interpret basic technical drawings and documentation
- Has some familiarity with measuring tools and checking part dimensions
- Is mechanically inclined and comfortable working with tools and equipment
- Is willing to learn new machines, processes, and techniques
- Pays close attention to detail
- Is punctual, dependable, and available
- Communicates well and listens to instructions
- Works well as part of a team
- Takes pride in producing quality work
- Can work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- Maintains a clean and organized workspace
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- College education in machining, toolmaking, manufacturing, or a related field is an asset
- 1–5 years of relevant machining/CNC experience preferred
- Additional training will be provided
We value practical ability, attitude, and willingness to learn. Candidates do not need to know everything coming into the position, but should already understand the fundamentals of working in a machine shop.
Schedule
- Full-time
- 40 hours per week
- Monday to Friday

- Occasional weekend work may be required
