CNC Machinist - Mill-Turn Production (Multi-Task Turret and Sliding headstock)

We have a variety of CNC lathes and custom-built manufacturing equipment that produce high quality, high quantity components with intricate levels of detail.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for well-rounded individuals that have a passion for learning and technology. An ideal candidate would have experience with Sliding Headstock and standard CNC production lathes. However, if you possess strong mechanical skills and want to fill your days working with advanced machining and manufacturing technology, we can train you.

As you grow with our company you will be expected to learn how to program, set-up, troubleshoot and operate CNC equipment. We operate in a fast-paced production environment , Continuous improvement, and knowledge transfer is critical to our shop culture.

JOB ACTIVITIES

- Learn our culture and best practices
- Maintain product quality
- Programing, set-up, and operation of multi axis CNC Swiss & dual-turret multi-tasking turning centers
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, tool charts, and work instructions
- Verify dimensions of parts using precise measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, optical comparator, CMM, Vision inspection and custom gaging.
- Collaborate with engineering, QC, and management to maintain efficiency
- Other manufacturing and shop maintenance duties as required

SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIRED

- A winning attitude with self starting capabilities
- Courage to challenge your assumptions and communicate your reasoning
- Attention to detail and analytically break down problems
- Team orientated and dependable with reliable transportation
- Hobbies that include attention to detail and dexterity
- Be able to be on your feet for a full shift. Bend and lift 50 lbs
- Good housekeeping and organizational skills
- Strong math and science skills

Other Assets include:

- Any post-secondary school or training in manufacturing, metalworking, machining, tool and die, drafting, metrology or similar is an asset
- Experience with Lean manufacturing principles, 5S, Six Sigma, etc
- Working knowledge of milling, turning, drilling, grinding, broaching, and other machine functions

REQUIREMENTS

- Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Mandatory criminal background check
- Speak, read, and write in English fluently
- Interested in long term career and committed to self growth
