CNC Machinist / Programmer

A&S; Design is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist / Programmer who likes staying busy, solving problems, and taking ownership of their work.

This is a hands-on position in a high-mix machine shop. One day may involve a one-off repair and the next a repeat production job. You will take jobs from drawing review and programming through setup, inspection, and production.

Job Details

Pay: Per hour, based on experience

Job type: Full-time, on-site

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Location: 12-2337 Townline Road, Abbotsford, BC

Overtime: Optional. Authorized hours over 40 are paid at the overtime rate.

Benefits: Group benefits after three months

What You Will Do:

- Review drawings and models, then plan how to make the part.
- Create and adjust CNC programs using Fusion 360 and/or Mastercam.
- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, routers, and multi-axis equipment based on your experience.
- Choose tooling, workholding, feeds, speeds, and machining sequences.
- Inspect first-off and production parts using precision measuring equipment.
- Troubleshoot problems and make practical adjustments to keep jobs moving.
- Look for better ways to machine parts, improve reliability, and reduce cycle time.
- Keep setup, inspection, and production information current.
- Work with the team, share knowledge, and help where needed.

What We Are Looking For:

- Hands-on CNC programming, setup, and operating experience.
- Ability to work independently from a drawing or model through a completed part.
- Strong understanding of machining,

tooling, tolerances, and inspection.
- Confidence using precision measuring tools.
- Someone dependable, organized, and comfortable working through changing priorities.
- Someone who takes initiative, communicates clearly, and is comfortable moving work forward without being directed at every step.

Experience with multi-axis or 5-axis milling, CNC turning, Mazak equipment, SolidWorks, or both Fusion 360 and Mastercam would be an asset. Why A&S; Design?

- Varied work instead of running the same part every day.
- The opportunity to take ownership of jobs from programming through production.
- An experienced team willing to share knowledge.
- Training, skills development, and apprenticeship support.
- Consistent weekday day shift.
- Optional overtime.
- Group advantages after three months.
