Duties
- Assist the lead teacher in preparing and organizing classroom materials aligned with Montessori methods
- Support individual and group activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development
- Observe and document children's progress, providing feedback to the teaching team
- Foster a positive, respectful classroom environment that encourages independence and exploration
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience
- Help maintain a clean, organized classroom that adheres to health and safety standards
- Participate in ongoing training related to early childhood education and special education needs
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, preferably within Montessori or early childhood environments
- Robust communication skills in English; proficiency in French or bilingual abilities are a plus
- Knowledge of math concepts suitable for early learners and experience tutoring or supporting children in this area
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and organizational skills to support smooth daily operations
- Understanding of special education practices and experience working with children with disabilities is advantageous
- Demonstrated time management skills to balance multiple responsibilities effectively
- Writing skills necessary for documenting student progress and preparing reports
- Passion for early childhood education with a focus on fostering inclusive learning environments
