Canadian Digital Marketing Summit
British Columbia
Company Description
CDM Summit brings marketers together across British Columbia through practical, high-signal events focused on learning, connection, and community.
We're now building CDM Basecamp , a year-round community designed to keep those conversations going between Summits. Members can connect with other marketers, ask questions, share ideas, join Office Hours with CDM speakers, and build relationships beyond the events.
We're looking for our first Community Manager to help us build Basecamp from the ground up.
Role Description The Community Manager will help shape the culture, experience, and growth of CDM Basecamp.
This is a 4–6 hour/week volunteer role to start , with the potential to develop into a paid role as the community grows.
You'll help welcome and engage members, spark conversations, coordinate Office Hours with CDM speakers, organize casual meetups around Metro Vancouver, gather member feedback, and identify ways to make Basecamp more valuable.
This isn't a role where you'll simply follow an established community playbook. You'll help create the playbook.
We're looking for someone early in their marketing career who genuinely enjoys bringing people together,
is curious about community building, and wants meaningful ownership over something from the beginning.
What you'll get:
- Free access to CDM Summit in 2027
- Direct access to CDM speakers and marketing leaders
- Hands-on experience building and managing a professional community
- Real ownership over the direction of CDM Basecamp
- The opportunity to help shape what we hope becomes BC's strongest marketing community
Qualifications
- 1–3 years into your marketing career, or equivalent experience
- Based in Metro Vancouver
- Naturally curious, outgoing, and interested in connecting people
- Solid written communication skills
- Active interest in digital marketing and the marketing community
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
- Organized and reliable
- Experience with community building, events, social media, or marketing is an asset, but not required
How to apply Don't send us a generic resume.
Send Amaan Jaffer a DM explaining why you'd be a good fit and give us one idea that would make
CDM Basecamp the best marketing community in BC.
That's the application.
