Rise to Life is looking for caring, dependable, and energetic Community Support Workers to join our Student Support Program in Edmonton for the 2026–2027 school year.

Our Community Support Workers provide individualized support to children and youth between the ages of 7 and 18 who may have autism, behavioural challenges, or other support needs. Students receive a minimum of 1:1 support, with some students requiring 2:1 support depending on their individual needs.

This role is about building relationships, providing consistency, and helping students be successful throughout their day.

What You’ll Do

As a Community Support Worker, you will:

- Provide consistent 1:1 or 2:1 support to children and youth
- Support emotional regulation, behaviour, communication, and social skills
- Support students to complete school work, assignments, and other educational activities based on their individual learning needs
- Provide encouragement, guidance, and assistance to help students stay engaged and focused on their learning
- Follow individualized strategies and support plans
- Help students develop independence, confidence, and daily living skills
- Support positive routines and transitions throughout the day
- Respond calmly and appropriately to challenging behaviours
- Maintain qualified communication with the Rise to Life team
- Complete required documentation and reporting

What We’re Looking For We are looking for individuals who are patient, reliable, adaptable, and able to build positive relationships with children and youth.





Experience supporting children or youth with autism, behavioural challenges, developmental disabilities, or complex needs is an asset.

Education in Child and Youth Care, Disability Studies, Educational Assistance, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field is also considered an asset.

Requirements

Successful applicants must have

- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search completed within the last 6 months
- Child Intervention Record Check completed within the last 6 months
- Availability to work Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on scheduled program days

A valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle with $2 million liability insurance is considered an asset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
