Overview: Reporting to the Production Supervisor, The Compounding Technician is responsible for batch manufacturing of liquid chemical products in accordance with compounding sheets, SOPs, and production schedules. The role involves accurate raw material handling, operation of mixing and transfer systems, SCADA-based production monitoring, and basic troubleshooting of pumps and electrically actuated valves to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities also include equipment start-up/shutdown, Cleaning-in-Place (CIP), liquid changeovers, wastewater treatment support, and coordination with production and logistics teams. The position requires adherence to strict safety standards and physical capability for manual handling tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and connecting/disconnecting hoses during production activities Key Responsibilities:

· Execute batch manufacturing activities in line with compounding sheets, SOPs, and production requirements

· Accurately weigh, measure, and charge liquid and powdered raw materials while maintaining full traceability

· Operate mixing, blending, and transfer equipment to ensure consistent product quality and efficient production flow

· Requires physical capability to perform manual handling tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and connecting/disconnecting hoses and transfer lines during production, cleaning, and material transfer activities · Identify and respond to process deviations,



including material inconsistencies and equipment issues, to maintain batch integrity

· Perform in-process quality checks and collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with specifications

· Maintain accurate production documentation, including compounding sheets and batch records, for audit readiness

· Handle, store, and transfer chemicals in accordance with WHMIS and company safety protocols, including proper use of PPE

· Carry out Cleaning-in-Place (CIP) operations for mixing and storage systems and manage liquid changeovers, including flushing, line clearance, and equipment preparation to ensure hygiene standards and prevent cross-contamination between batches · Support wastewater treatment operations, including chemical dosing and ensuring environmentally compliant discharge

· Monitor production status through SCADA systems and/or central control room interfaces; respond to alarms and escalate issues as required

· Operate and oversee automated mixing, transfer, and dosing systems while maintaining process parameters within established specifications

· Perform first-level troubleshooting of pumps and electrically actuated valves; coordinate with maintenance for timely resolution

· Execute equipment start-up and shutdown procedures in accordance with established protocols

· Coordinate with production, process teams,



and forklift operators to ensure efficient material flow and operations

· Apply basic arithmetic and mathematical skills to perform batch calculations, material measurements, unit conversions, and process parameter verification during manufacturing operations

· Utilize and interpret basic process instrumentation, including Pressure Transmitters (PT), Level Controllers (LC), Solenoid Valves (SV), and Motorized/Modulating Valves (MV), to support safe and effective process control operations

· Conduct basic operational checks on automated systems (no programming or advanced control responsibilities)

· Maintain housekeeping, line clearance, and GMP standards within the production area

· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on process efficiency, waste reduction, and operational reliability Qualifications:

· Diploma or relevant experience in chemical manufacturing, processing, or a related field

· Experience with batch processing involving liquid and powdered chemicals

· Working knowledge of WHMIS and chemical handling practices

· Ability to interpret compounding sheets, SOPs, and technical instructions

· Exposure to SCADA or plant monitoring systems is considered an asset

· Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy

· Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

· Familiarity with material handling and general plant operations

Work Environment

· Manufacturing environment with exposure to liquid and powdered chemicals

· Requires adherence to safety protocols, PPE usage, and environmental compliance standards

· Physically active role involving equipment operation, material handling, and coordination across team

· Salary Range: $ 25 to 26
