Compounding Pharmacy Assistant – Full-Time, -Part-Time

About the Position

We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Compounding Pharmacy Assistant to join our pharmacy team in Hamilton.

In this hands-on role, you will assist with the preparation of customized, non-sterile compounded medications under the supervision of a pharmacist.

The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working with precise measurements, and takes pride in accuracy and maintaining a clean, well-organized workspace. Previous pharmacy or compounding experience is an asset, but we also value candidates who are eager to learn and have strong attention to detail.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Assist in preparing non-sterile compounded medications, including creams, ointments, capsules, liquids, suspensions, and other customized dosage forms
- Weigh and measure ingredients accurately according to approved formulas and procedures
- Mix, prepare, package, and label compounded preparations as directed
- Follow established compounding procedures, master formulations, SOPs, and safety requirements
- Prepare and organize ingredients, supplies, and equipment before compounding
- Complete required compounding records and documentation accurately
- Maintain a clean and orderly compounding laboratory
- Clean and care for compounding equipment according to established procedures
- Receive and organize compounding ingredients and supplies
- Monitor inventory levels and check ingredients for expiry dates
- Communicate with pharmacists and other team members regarding workflow,



priorities, and preparation timelines
- Follow pharmacy policies and applicable non-sterile compounding standards, including NAPRA requirements

Education & Experience
- High school/secondary school education
- Previous pharmacy experience is preferred
- Experience with non-sterile compounding is considered an asset
- Experience using Fillware is an asset
- English proficiency is required

Experience:
- Canadian Community Pharmacy: 1 year (preferred)
