Hughes Construction is looking for an experienced Concrete Formwork Foreman / Lead Form Setter to join our team for upcoming commercial concrete projects throughout the Lower Mainland.

We are looking for someone who knows concrete formwork, can lead a crew, and takes pride in delivering quality work efficiently and safely.

Scope of Work

Our work includes a variety of commercial and industrial cast-in-place concrete, including:

- Footings and foundations
- Cast-in-place walls
- Architectural concrete walls
- Curbs and upstands
- Stairs
- Slab edges and bulkheads
- Equipment pads
- Miscellaneous commercial concrete formwork

The Role As a Formwork Foreman / Lead Form Setter, you will be responsible for leading and working alongside the forming crew to execute our concrete work in the field.

Responsibilities include

- Lead and organize formwork crews
- Read and interpret structural and architectural drawings
- Perform and verify layout, dimensions and elevations
- Plan forming activities, materials and manpower
- Build and oversee formwork for walls, footings, stairs and other concrete structures
- Coordinate forming activities with reinforcing and concrete placement
- Inspect forms for line, grade, dimensions, stability and overall quality prior to pours
- Plan ahead to keep work progressing efficiently and ready for scheduled concrete placements
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
- Identify field issues early and communicate requirements to project management

Experience
- 5+ years of commercial concrete formwork experience preferred




- Previous experience leading a crew or taking responsibility for forming operations
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Strong understanding of layout, elevations and concrete formwork
- Experience with commercial cast-in-place concrete
- Comfortable operating common construction tools and equipment
- Solid understanding of safe formwork and construction practices
- Ability to balance quality with production and schedule requirements
