About the role
Reporting to the Setting Lead, the Environment Coordinator coordinates multiple development projects across site to maintain compliance and manage integration with existing operations at Fording River Operations.
Responsibilities
- Participate in health and safety programs and policies
- Collaborate with disciplines and departments, external agencies, and communities
- Coordinate completion of regulatory compliance obligations, including management plans, permit approvals, and inspections or audits
- Organize regulatory inspections and provide action response plans for inspection findings
- Fulfill information requests for projects from internal and external groups
- Develop strong understanding of applicable permits, management plans, and regulatory requirements
- Reconcile legacy information and documentation from permitting and regulatory files into a retrievable system
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Forestry, Agriculture, or related field
- Minimum three years experience in environmental regulation or compliance in industrial environment
- Comfort influencing and supporting practical and process change across disciplines and departments
- Technical knowledge of federal and provincial compliance practices and regulations is an asset
- Experience with environmental data management, analysis, reporting, and database utilization is an asset
