Underground Construction Labourer – 2 Positions Available

Pay: $20.00–$24.00 per hour

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Glenlea, Manitoba

Typical Start Time: 6:00 a.m.

Precision Underground Inc. is hiring two full-time Underground Construction Labourers to support our directional drilling and site-restoration crews.

Previous construction experience is helpful but not required. We’re willing to train dependable people who enjoy physical work, show up on time, follow instructions, and want to learn valuable construction and equipment-operating skills.

This is an entry point into the underground construction industry—not a dead-end labour position. Employees who demonstrate a robust work ethic and willingness to learn may have opportunities to advance into directional drilling, locating, truck driving, equipment operation, and crew-leadership positions.

What You’ll Do
- Assist directional drilling and underground utility crews.
- Prepare work areas, tools, and materials for daily operations.
- Help expose utilities and prepare entry and exit pits.
- Load and unload tools, pipe, materials, and equipment.
- Operate hand tools, compactors, pumps, and other small equipment.
- Assist with installing underground pipe and conduit.
- Help set up barricades, signs, and safe work zones.
- Provide traffic control when required.
- Restore lawns, approaches, driveways, and other surfaces after construction.




- Complete site cleanup and leave work areas in good condition.
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment.
- Assist with general shop and equipment-maintenance tasks.
- Follow instructions from equipment operators and crew leaders.
- Follow company safety procedures and project requirements.

Required Qualifications
- Valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s Licence
- Reliable transportation to our Glenlea location
- Able to report for a typical 6:00 a.m. start
- Physically capable of lifting, carrying, digging, and handling construction materials
- Comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions
- Able to follow directions and work safely around trucks and heavy equipment
- Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn
- Able to work effectively as part of a crew
- Willing to travel or work out of town occasionally when projects require it

Experience Previous construction experience is an asset but isn’t required. Training will be provided to the right candidates.

- Underground utility construction
- Landscaping and property restoration
- Excavation or earthworks
- Concrete or asphalt work
- Directional drilling
- Hydrovac work
- Agriculture or farm work
- Road construction
- General construction
- Equipment operation
- Other physically demanding outdoor work

This Position Probably Isn’t for You If:
- You’re looking for light-duty or indoor work.
- You aren’t comfortable working outdoors in changing weather.
- You’re unable to start work in Glenlea at 6:00 a.m.
- You don’t want to perform lifting, digging, cleanup, or restoration work.
- You aren’t willing to travel occasionally for project work.
- You’re looking for a short-term job without an interest in learning or developing new skills.
