Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Controller to lead our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our accounting processes. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of financial reporting. Your expertise will help us maintain accurate records, streamline accounting procedures, manage payroll, accounts payable, capital asset additions, depreciation, GST reporting, T5 reporting, annual tax returns.

Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
- Conduct account reconciliation and account analysis to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or other platforms to maintain precise financial records.
- Lead budgeting processes by developing forecasts, monitoring variances, and providing insights for strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies through diligent audit preparations.
- Supervise the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems to improve efficiency and data integrity.
- Manage the annual financial statement audit
Experience
- Proven experience as a Controller or senior accounting professional with a strong background in managing comprehensive accounting functions.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation and detailed account analysis accurately.
- Familiarity with payroll processing, budgeting processes, and financial reporting requirements.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate across departments and present financial insights clearly.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to grow with the business.
- Having the CPA designation.
