Overview

We’re hiring a Controller to lead accounting and financial reporting for a growing construction business in the GTA. You’ll own month-end close, job costing/WIP, cash flow, and support project teams with clear, timely financial insights.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead month-end/year-end close and produce financial statements & variance reporting
- Manage job costing, WIP reporting, project margin tracking , and change order accounting
- Oversee AP/AR, progress billings, collections, and cash flow forecasting
- Ensure compliance (HST, payroll remittances, WSIB) and maintain robust internal controls
- Partner with PMs/Operations on budgets, committed costs, and forecast-to-complete
- Manage/mentor the accounting team and improve processes/systems

Qualifications

- CPA preferred
- 7+ years accounting/finance experience, construction/project accounting required
- Strong understanding of progress billings, holdbacks, subcontractor accounting, and cost codes
- Advanced Excel; experience with construction accounting/ERP systems is an asset
