$19.00 per hour (full time position; 40 hours per week)
- Preparing and mixing ingredients for frozen food items made by hand for distribution to local supermarkets
- Preparation of Portuguese cod and shrimp cakes and other specialties in high-volume commercial kitchen setting
- Seasoning mixtures during preparation in accordance with Portuguese recipes
- Cooking and mixing all the required ingredients
- Preparing and cooking filling for the shrimp cakes in accordance with Portuguese recipes
- Portioning and molding cod and shrimp cakes and other specialties
- Monitor stock levels, rotate ingredients, order supplies and estimate food requirements to minimize waste
- Clean kitchen and work areas
Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of commercial cooking experience, specifically in preparing traditional Portuguese pasteis de bacalhau, rissoes [shrimp, beef, chicken, tuna & other fillings]
- Work with minimal supervision
- Prepared to work in a commercial kitchen environment
