Responsibilities

- Administer full-cycle Canadian and US payrolls, including unionized environments across existing and future payroll and HRIS platforms
- Lead payroll accounting, journal entries, and audits
- Supervise and coach the payroll team (Lead Administrator and Payroll Specialist)
- Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and US state labor laws
- Oversee reporting, reconciliation, and internal control improvements
- Spearhead payroll process re-engineering and automation initiatives
- Support finance team integration and digital system transformation
- Build strong cross-functional relationships (Finance, HR, Operations)
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless payroll and perks administration (RRSP,



401k, Drug, Dental, Extended Health)
- Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance overall business operations

Requirements

- 10+ years of payroll leadership experience
- PCP designation and HR experience preferred
- Proven expertise with multi-state US and Canadian payroll compliance
- Systems: UKG, ADP Workforce Now, Avanti, Passport (T&E;), Epicor, Vena
- Industry experience in agriculture, manufacturing, or similar complex settings
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills
