Roblin Contracting Services Ltd. is looking to hire a crane operator Journeyman / Apprentice to join our team. We have taxi crane work, as well as longer term jobs on site. In this role, you will operate various types of cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials safely and efficiently across multiple project sites. We operate conventional, hydraulic, AT, RT, and tower cranes.
Responsibilities
- Operate cranes such as tower cranes, boom trucks, mobile AT cranes and RTs to hoist materials on construction sites
- Conduct pre-use inspections of crane equipment to ensure safety and functionality
- Coordinate with ground crew and project managers using clear communication skills to execute lifting plans effectively
- Complete required safety documents as per legislation
- Maintain detailed logs of crane operations, inspections, and maintenance activities
- Follow all safety protocols and industry regulations to prevent accidents or injuries during lifting operations (COR program)
- Assist with setup and dismantling of crane equipment as needed
Requirements
- Proven construction experience with a solid understanding of heavy machinery operation
- Valid crane operator certification or enrolled in an Apprenticeship program Experience operating boom trucks, forklifts, or similar equipment is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge to perform routine maintenance checks and troubleshoot issues quickly
- Knowledge of rigging techniques and safety standards related to crane operations
- Customer service mindset with a focus on safety, efficiency, and teamwork
