Make a difference in people's lives as a Shelter Monitor at The Salvation Army's Richmond House. Support guests, maintain safety, and encourage a welcoming atmosphere every shift.
In this role, you will monitor guest activities and ensure the safety and cleanliness of the shelter. With at least two years of experience in social services, you will provide practical and moral support while working closely with caseworkers. Your ability to enforce policies while fostering a positive environment is essential for helping guests feel at home.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor guests and enforce shelter policies consistently
• Assist guests with daily needs and prepare meals
• Conduct safety checks of the shelter and grounds
• Maintain accurate logs of daily activities and incidents
• Support caseworkers by providing guest feedback
Requirements:
• Minimum two years of experience in social services
• Training in crisis intervention and conflict resolution
• First Aid and CPR certification required
• Solid computer skills and attention to detail
• Commitment to a respectful and diverse environment
