Senior SQL Server Database Administrator (Contract)
Location: Calgary, AB (Primarily Remote – occasional onsite as needed)
Duration: Long-term contract
We're looking for a Senior SQL Server DBA to join a large enterprise environment supporting mission-critical SQL Server infrastructure. This is a hands-on role for someone who can quickly step in, independently manage complex production environments, and participate in an on-call rotation.
Key Requirements
- 8 years of senior SQL Server DBA experience
- Deep expertise with SQL Server 2016
- Solid experience with:
- Performance tuning & optimization
- Always On Availability Groups
- Backup & Disaster Recovery
- Replication
- T-SQL & PowerShell scripting
- SQL Server upgrades, migrations & patching
- Experience with Azure SQL, VMware, and enterprise monitoring tools (SolarWinds, SCOM, SentryOne, Redgate, etc.)
- Experience with Commvault, ServiceNow, and ITIL environments is an asset
- Comfortable working independently and participating in an on-call support rotation
