Senior QA / Test Analyst – Dayforce | Payroll & Workforce Management

? Location: Fully remote – candidates must be able to work within US/Canada time zones .

? Contract: Freelance

We are currently looking for a Senior QA / Test Analyst with strong Dayforce experience to join a large-scale HCM transformation project.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing and quality assurance , combined with hands-on experience testing Dayforce Payroll and Workforce Management (WFM) functionalities.

? Your Responsibilities

Testing & Validation

- Validate Dayforce configurations against business and functional requirements.
- Execute end-to-end testing across Payroll, Workforce Management, Time & Attendance, Scheduling, Absence Management and HCM processes .
- Plan and execute SIT, UAT, Regression Testing and Payroll Parallel Testing .
- Validate inbound and outbound integrations between Dayforce and connected systems.
- Verify data flows, mappings, calculations, transformations and reconciliation results.
- Ensure configurations and processes meet expected business outcomes.

Test Case Development

- Create detailed test cases, test scripts and test scenarios based on business requirements.
- Translate business processes into structured and traceable test scenarios.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, configurations and test cases.
- Prepare and manage test data required for testing activities.

Defect Management

- Identify, document and track defects through resolution.
- Collaborate with functional consultants, Payroll SMEs, Business Analysts, integration teams and developers to investigate issues.
- Perform defect retesting and validate fixes.
- Participate in defect triage and provide regular testing status updates.

Payroll & Workforce Management Testing

- Validate payroll calculations including earnings, deductions, taxes, overtime, premiums, shift differentials and union rules .




- Test schedules, timesheets, attendance policies, punch processing, leave management and pay rules.
- Validate payroll and WFM integrations with upstream and downstream systems.
- Ensure compliance with defined payroll and workforce management requirements.

Documentation & Reporting

- Document test results, evidence, defects and testing metrics.
- Provide clear reporting on testing progress, risks and issues.
- Support test planning, execution and sign-off activities.

? Required Experience
- 5+ years of experience in QA / Software Testing .
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Dayforce testing .
- Proven experience testing Dayforce Payroll and Dayforce Workforce Management (WFM) .
- Solid understanding of payroll processing, time & attendance, scheduling, absence management and labor rules.
- Experience testing integrations, APIs, flat files and data conversions .
- Strong experience creating test cases, test scripts and traceability matrices.
- Experience with testing and defect management tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO), Jira or similar .
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

⭐ Nice to Have
- Experience with large-scale Dayforce implementations or HCM transformation programs .
- Experience with Payroll Parallel Testing and reconciliation .
- Experience in complex or unionized workforce environments.
- Experience working in Agile or hybrid project environments .
- Dayforce certification is an asset.
