Duties:

- Assemble, cook, prepare and package a variety of ready to eat food items in a timely manner.
- Complete all necessary closing duties each night to ensure the deli department is clean and food safe.
- Stocking & facing retail items
- Baking and packaging pastries
- Receiving and tracking retail items and their best before dates.
- Maintain deli cleanliness standards, and keeps products looking up to Urban Grocer Standards
- Performs other related duties as required.

Our Deli does not have a service counter like some other delis, and we do not serve customers directly. However, we are always receptive to customer requests and interactions when they happen.




- Create a deli shopping experience that impacts customers in a positive way that enhance their experience & loyalty, as well as our store’s overall community engagement.
- Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs.

Other Responsibilities include:

- Provide feedback for continuous improvement
- Ability to work independently and self-motivated. Working alone is frequent, and the priorities and needs of the department are to be met without supervision.
- Practice food safety standards in compliance with the Vancouver Island Health Authority.
