We are looking for a dependable, hardworking individual to join our team as a Delivery Driver & Upholstery Shop Assistant. This is a hands-on position that combines furniture delivery, shop support, and the opportunity to learn the upholstery trade.

No upholstery experience is required. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn. We are committed to training the right person and providing opportunities to grow into more advanced upholstery responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Furniture Delivery & Customer Service

· Safely load, secure, transport, and deliver furniture to customers throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality and surrounding areas.

· Pick up customer furniture and transport it back to our shop.

· Carefully move furniture throughout the shop using proper lifting techniques and equipment.

· Inspect furniture before loading and unloading.

· Represent Ace Upholstery professionally and courteously while interacting with customers.

· Assist with supplier pickups and deliveries as required.

Upholstery Shop Support

· Strip furniture in preparation for upholstery.

· Cut and prepare foam, batting, and upholstery materials.

· Assist upholsterers with basic upholstery tasks.

· Organize tools, materials, and inventory.

· Receive and put away incoming supplies.

· Assist with general production and shop projects as needed.

Shop Maintenance





· Sweep and vacuum shop floors.

· Empty garbage and recycling bins.

· Clean washrooms, lunchroom, and common areas.

· Keep workstations clean, organized, and free of hazards.

· Help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workplace.

· Perform general housekeeping and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

· Clean driving record and ability to provide a current driver’s abstract.

· Legally entitled to work in Canada.

· Physically capable of lifting and moving furniture safely.

· Reliable, punctual, and dependable.

· Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

· Strong work ethic with attention to detail.

· Good communication and customer service skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications (Assets)

· Experience driving cargo vans or cube trucks.

· Experience in furniture moving, delivery, warehousing, construction, woodworking, upholstery, or another skilled trade.

· First Aid, WHMIS, forklift certification, or similar training.
