Our Facility is looking for an Experienced and Certified Dietary Aide. As a Food Service Worker, you will be assisting with food preparations and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment with accordance to our high standards and follow the Public Health of Ontario Food Handling and Safety Guideline.

A valid Food Handler Certification and proficiency in English are required to maintain compliance and effective communication within our team with at least one year experience in a Retirement home, long term care or Hotel setting.

Mandatory to have in order to apply for this position:

- Valid Safety Food Handlers Certificate.
- Vulnerable Police Check (not more then 6 months)
- 2-Step TB Test or x-ray (not more then 6 months old)
- Work permit if applicable

Responsibilities

· Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures to maintain a safe and clean environment in accordance with the Food and Safety health regulations

· Follow proper procedures for cleaning, dishwashing, sanitizing and organizing in accordance with the Food and Safety regulations to promote efficient operations

· Assist with meal preparation to ensure timely delivery of meals to residents

· Follow the Dietary Chart to ensure safety with Dietary needs and allergies

· Set up dining areas,



serve food with friendliness and professionalism

· Assist in menu planning to meet nutritional and aesthetic standards

· Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and cooking areas

· Use knife skills and culinary techniques to prepare ingredients efficiently

· Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs for efficient kitchen operations

· Follow the dress code and policies to ensure safety and cleanliness

Skills

- Proven experience in safe and proper food preparation
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency with various cooking techniques
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Robust organizational skills with attention to detail in food safety and quality control

Qualifications

- Previous experience in retirement homes, hotels or hospitals is highly preferred
- Knowledge of food handling, serving, and maintaining sanitation standards in a kitchen or dining setting
- ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with dementia residents
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy mealtimes
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while following detailed instructions
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting or movement of supplies with accordance to the safety guidelines

Pay: From $19.06 per hour
