About Webability

Webability is a web accessibility compliance software that helps businesses build inclusive digital experiences — and stay compliant with WCAG, ADA, and Section 508 standards. We work with companies across industries who need to make their websites accessible to every user, not just most users.

We're a small, focused team that moves fast and cares deeply about the problem we're solving.

The Role

We're hiring a dedicated Digital Accessibility Specialist.

You'll be the accessibility expert inside Webability — the person who knows what positive looks like, can spot what automated tools miss, and can communicate findings clearly to developers, designers, and business owners alike.

This role sits at the intersection of customer advisory, product feedback, and subject matter expertise. You'll work directly with clients to help them understand and resolve accessibility issues, while also shaping how Webability identifies, surfaces, and explains those issues in our product.

What You'll Do

Customer-Facing:

- Conduct manual accessibility audits for clients across web and mobile platforms, evaluating against WCAG 2.1 AA and applicable legal standards (ADA, Section 508)
- Deliver clear, actionable audit reports — findings written for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Advise clients on remediation priorities and implementation approaches
- Join client calls to walk through findings, answer questions, and build their confidence in achieving compliance
- Review vendor accessibility documentation (VPATs, ACRs) where needed

Product-Facing:
- Validate and stress-test Webability's automated testing output — flag false positives, missing detections, and edge cases

- Provide structured feedback to the product and engineering team to improve how accessibility issues are detected, described, and prioritized in our platform
- Contribute to internal documentation, testing frameworks, and best practices

Subject Matter:
- Stay current on WCAG updates, evolving assistive technology behavior, and regulatory changes
- Occasionally contribute to blog posts, case studies, or educational content that demonstrates Webability's expertise

What We're Looking For

Required

- 2+ years of hands-on manual accessibility testing experience
- Strong working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 A/AA, with the ability to confidently map issues to specific criteria
- Proficiency with primary screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver) and other assistive technologies
- Experience with both automated and manual testing tools (Axe, WAVE, Siteimprove, or equivalent)
- Ability to read and interpret HTML, CSS, and ARIA to assess code-level issues
- Clear written communication skills — you can write a remediation report that a developer can act on and a founder can understand
- CPACC or WAS certification (or active pursuit within 12 months)

Nice to Have:
- Experience in a SaaS, consulting, or client-facing role
- Background in UX research or usability testing with disabled users
- Familiarity with VPAT/ACR review processes
- Experience with mobile accessibility testing (iOS, Android)

What We Offer
- Fully remote, async-friendly environment
- Competitive salary
- Opportunity to define and own the accessibility function from the ground up
- Direct impact — your work goes straight into client outcomes and product improvements
- A small team that respects expertise and trusts people to do their job

Webability is an equal opportunity employer. We actively welcome applications from people with disabilities.
