Position Overview
Driver Examiner for Serco Canada Inc. supporting DriveTest Centres across Ontario on behalf of the Ministry of Transportation. Responsibilities include conducting road tests, evaluating candidates, and providing customer service.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate driving abilities of G2 and G level light vehicle applicants.
- Conduct road tests for applicants with special needs or disabilities.
- Provide grade of road test, licence information and resolve licensing issues.
- Assist with Driver Examination services information.
- Respond to inquiries related to driver licensing and test procedures.
- Verify candidate details (name, DOB, address) for three‑point verification.
- Conduct examinations in a fair and professional environment.
- Review information to determine test requirements.
- Provide examination results and complete evaluation forms.
- Create a calm, qualified environment to enable applicants to perform at best.
- Attend travel points to provide testing and licensing services where applicable.
- Perform physical duties:
sit or stand for extended periods and enter/exit vehicles up to 30 times per shift.
Qualifications
- Fluency in French and English.
- Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- 1‑4 years customer service experience.
- Touch‑typing and data entry proficiency.
- Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence.
- At least four years driving experience based on date first licensed.
- Acceptable driving record: no more than four demerit points and three violations at all times.
- Thorough knowledge of Highway Traffic Act and related regulations.
- Must pass CPIC and Fingerprint criminal record checks.
- Hours vary with demand; may include evenings and weekends.
- Attendance of formal training session required; failing training results in immediate termination.
