Position Overview

Lambert Nemec Group, Winnipeg's leader in Permanent Accounting & Finance Recruitment, has partnered with our client, a well established and rapidly growing public company, to recruit an experienced Director, Corporate Reporting & Governance. This role oversees a wide scope of responsibilities including external financial reporting, ESG strategy and communications, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and enterprise risk oversight, while acting as a trusted partner to the executive team and Board of Directors. This is an excellent opportunity for a designated accounting professional with strong public company reporting experience who enjoys high visibility work, cross functional collaboration, and a quick paced, evolving environment.

Responsibilities:

The Director, Corporate Reporting & Governance is responsible to:

- Partner with senior leadership and the Investor Relations function to ensure strategic messaging and risk disclosures are accurate, well supported, and clearly communicated within external financial reporting
- Chair a Risk and Sustainability oversight committee, reporting findings to the Board and working with business leaders across the organization to identify and document key enterprise risks
- Guide the company's ESG strategy and lead related external communications and reporting
- Own governance related initiatives and action plans, including preparation of periodic regulatory updates and annual summaries aligned with current governance and proxy standards

- Lead a disclosure committee responsible for the timeliness and accuracy of public filings, including annual and interim reports, information circulars, regulatory filings, and press releases
- Support the Board of Directors with governance responsibilities, including preparing financial reports, analyses, and briefing materials for the Board and its committees
- Collaborate with the broader finance and accounting team on the adoption of new accounting standards and policies
- Build and grow expertise in cross border regulatory reporting requirements as the organization's public company footprint expands
- Maintain and continuously improve an enterprise risk register
- Contribute to an active internal controls compliance initiative, with an expectation of substantial completion within the next year

Requirements:

• Hold a Canadian CPA designation
- 7 years of progressively responsible experience in finance leadership, ideally with a mix of public accounting and public company industry exposure
- Demonstrated experience preparing MD&A;, press releases, and other external financial disclosures at a highly visible level

- Solid understanding of Canadian public company governance and disclosure requirements; exposure to or interest in building cross border regulatory reporting knowledge is considered an asset
- Comfortable operating in a fast paced, still evolving organization; someone who takes initiative and drives outcomes rather than waiting for direction
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at every level of a complex organization, including executives, the Board, and external parties
- Strong computer skills, including advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with enterprise financial or governance reporting systems is an asset

Rewards:

• Competitive compensation package including a bonus
- Exceptional exposure and interaction with the Executive Leadership team, Board of Directors, and external stakeholders
- Opportunity to work alongside and receive mentorship from a strong, established finance leadership team
- Extended Health & Dental Plan
