About the Job:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the President and owner of the Company, the Director of Finance / Accounting plays a pivotal role as the financial leader of the Company by overseeing, planning and managing the corporate finance and accounting functions throughout the Company’s business ventures. The Director of Finance monitors the financial health of the company and identifies opportunities and implements improvements and best practices in structure and processes in areas of finance, accounting, budgeting, internal audit, taxation, treasury, and reporting as they relate to the overall corporate strategy, growth, and stability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Works with ownership to establish department goals and objectives;
- Assumes full accountability for all financial reporting and controls;
- Builds leads and develops the finance and accounting team(s);
- Establishes, implements or improves financial controls in conjunction with business division leaders and accounting units, keeping in mind the need for business flexibility and nimbleness;
- provides timely, accurate, complete and relevant financial information to ensure accurate rolling forecasts and support other financial planning & analysis initiatives;
- Maintains regular and proactive communication with ownership to ensure timely updates, risk management, and issue resolution;
- Leads the review and improvement of period reporting including month end management reporting,



financial statements (external and internal) and upstream reporting to ownership and other stakeholders as required;
- Analyzes, reviews and provides an interpretation of financial information that drives discussions and actions within the business, such as budgeting, capital investments, expansions, acquisitions, etc.;
- Acts as business advisors and partner, advises senior management on initiatives to reduce costs, maximize profits and optimize budgets;
- Allocates and directs financial resources to implements organizational policies, programs and processes;
- Prepares supporting information for internal and external auditors; and conducts internal audits as necessary;
- Ensures ongoing compliance with tax and applicable regulatory authorities;
- Represents the organization to act on behalf of the organization in business negotiations or functions;
- Keeps abreast with applicable legislations, principles, standards and trends;
- Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS: (experience, education, soft skills, technical skills, etc.)

- Accredited Accounting designation, with a university degree(s);
- Minimum of 6+ years of Head Office Director of Finance experience;
- Minimum of 10+ years of hands-on, progressive leadership experience, preferably in corporate/shared services environment;
- Experience in hospitality sector mandatory, with energy (oil) sector experience preferred;
- Be fluent in both English and Mandarin.
- Proven ability and track record of implementing financial structure and policies for day-to-day accounting functions while maintaining a strategic view on business goals and future;
- Ability to work under pressure with changing priorities;
- Proven success in training, development of others, and leading and building strong stable teams;
- Accustomed to and ability to deliver results within for seasonal, high-pressure production environments;
- Strong professional and work ethics, self-motivated, accountable and results oriented;
- Able to travel domestically and internationally, driving license required

Pay: CA$100,000.00 - CA$120,000.00 per year
