Position Summary The Director of Operations is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving the operating system that drives performance across our group of companies. This executive leadership role is accountable for operational excellence, productivity, capacity optimization, quality, safety, profitability, and the execution of transformational initiatives that enable scalable growth. Success is measured through sustained improvements in productivity, EBITDA, customer satisfaction, quality, safety, employee engagement, and overall operational performance.

Strategic Leadership

- Develop and execute a multi-year operational excellence strategy aligned with growth objectives.
- Build scalable operating systems and governance frameworks across business units.
- Translate strategic priorities into measurable KPIs, operating rhythms, and accountability.
- Identify opportunities for business expansion, capacity optimization, and strategic cost reduction.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

- Develop, implement, and continuously improve operational policies, procedures, and standards across business units.
- Monitor operational performance and provide regular reporting, analysis, and recommendations.
- Lead Lean, continuous improvement,



and process optimization initiatives.
- Eliminate waste through standardization, value stream improvement, and disciplined execution.
- Improve OEE, throughput, cycle time, labour productivity, inventory turns, and cost performance.
- Develop executive operational dashboards with leading and lagging KPIs.

Operational Leadership

- Serve as a key liaison between executive leadership and operational teams.
- Maintain a visible and hands-on presence across operational facilities and work environments.
- Lead production, field operations, logistics, service, and facilities.
- Optimize labour, equipment, materials, and capacity to maximize productivity.
- Partner with Finance, Sales, IT, Quality, EHS, and People & Culture to align execution.
- Lead operational budgeting, forecasting, and performance reviews.

Systems & Digital Transformation

- Identify systemic bottlenecks and redesign processes for scalability.
- Drive ERP optimization, automation, and data-driven decision making.
- Implement technologies that improve planning, scheduling, visibility, and execution.

People Leadership

- Build high-performing leadership teams through coaching, performance management, succession planning, and clear accountability.
- Champion a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, innovation, and change leadership.

Governance, Safety & Quality





- Ensure compliance with applicable health and safety legislation, employment standards, environmental requirements, regulatory obligations, and organizational policies.
- Promote a robust safety culture and ensure safety, quality, and compliance considerations are integrated into operational decision-making.
- Maintain and strengthen ISO 9001 quality management practices.

Qualifications

- Post-secondary education in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related discipline.
- 8+ years of progressive operations leadership, preferably multi-site.
- Demonstrated success leading operational transformation with measurable productivity and EBITDA improvements.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Operational Excellence, ERP systems, budgeting, and KPI management.
- Strong analytical, financial, communication, coaching, and change leadership skills.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, MBA, PMP, or CPIM considered assets.
- Ability to travel throughout Southern Ontario.

Success Measures (First 12–24 Months)

- Improve labour productivity and operational efficiency.
- Increase throughput while maintaining quality and safety.
- Standardize operational KPIs across business units.
- Develop and execute a multi-year operational transformation roadmap.
- Build leadership capability and succession strength.
