The Director of Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for the end-to-end performance field operations, fleet, and warehouse functions. Reporting directly to the CEO and working in close partnership with the COO, this role is designed to protect executive bandwidth and drive operational performance across the organization. The Director of Operations is expected to own decisions and escalate strategically, not frequently.

You will be accountable for operational excellence, resource efficiency, team leadership, and scalable systems as the company grows.

This is not a desk role. The Director of Operations is a visible, hands-on leader who holds the field, fleet, and warehouse to the highest standards while simultaneously building the infrastructure that allows the business to scale. The successful candidate is wired for follow through.

They don’t just identify the gap but will close it, document it and make sure it doesn’t reopen. They will be a decisive operator, a strong people leader, and a systems thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, complex environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Field Operations Leadership & Oversight (55%)

- Own the daily execution of all active restoration projects from dispatch through close-out.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, on budget, and to our quality standards.
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, and resources across concurrent projects.




- Manage subcontractor relationships: including sourcing, performance management, and compliance.
- Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and risks and drive corrective action.
- Ensure field execution reflects our client experience standards and that crew are professional, communication is proactive, and every site visit reinforces our reputation.
- Monitor project timelines, field accountability, and operational KPIs identifying and resolving issues proactively.
- Lead emergency response coordination and operational planning for new project intake.
- Enforce operational SOPs and continuously improve field execution standards.
- Be visible in the field, building trust with crews and holding teams accountable through presence, not just reporting.

2. Team Leadership & People Development (15%)

- Lead, coach, and develop project managers, supervisors, technicians, and the Fleet & Operations Manager.
- Set clear expectations and hold teams accountable to performance, safety, and culture standards.
- Support onboarding, integration, and field training for recent operational hires.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and develop individual growth plans.
- Build depth in the operations department by developing future leaders from within.
- Reinforce our values and culture across the entire operations team.

3. Reporting, KPIs & Operational Systems (15%)

- Own operational performance reporting: KPI dashboards, project cycle times, labour efficiency, documentation compliance, and profitability trends.
- Produce weekly and monthly operational summaries for the CEO and leadership team.
- Champion the use of Monday.com and internal systems to ensure data integrity and real-time visibility.
- Support operational forecasting, capacity planning, and strategic scaling efforts.

4. Fleet Management (5%)

- Own the full lifecycle of our vehicle and equipment fleet, scheduling, maintenance, compliance, and utilization.




- Ensure all vehicles are road-ready, properly maintained, and compliant with applicable regulations.
- Track fleet utilization and deployment across projects, minimizing downtime and idle time.
- Manage vendor relationships for maintenance, repairs, and fleet procurement.
- Maintain accurate fleet records and support insurance, licensing, and CVOR compliance.
- Build and manage fleet budget in alignment with company financial targets.

5. Warehouse & Equipment Management (5%)

- Oversee the Scarborough warehouse, organization, inventory accuracy, cleanliness, and security.
- Ensure restoration equipment (dehumidifiers, air movers, extraction units, etc.) is maintained, tracked, and deployment-ready.
- Build and enforce warehouse SOPs, including intake, storage, staging, and returns.
- Manage consumables inventory, ordering cycles, and cost controls.
- Support asset management and capital planning for equipment replacement and growth.

6. Safety & Compliance (5%)

- Own our field safety culture: PPE compliance, toolbox talks, and incident management.
- Ensure all field, fleet, and warehouse activities meet applicable health and safety standards.
- Lead incident investigations, corrective actions, and risk mitigation plans.

Qualifications

- 7+ years of progressive operational leadership experience in restoration, construction, emergency services, or a related trade industry.
- Proven track record managing field teams, fleet operations, and/or warehouse functions simultaneously.
- Strong financial acumen, experience managing budgets, job costing, and operational P&L; accountability.
- Demonstrated ability to build and scale operational systems, processes, and teams.
- Experience with KPI development, operational reporting, and data-driven decision making.
- Hands-on knowledge of restoration industry operations and safety standards preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract; ability to travel to field sites across the GTA.
- Post-secondary education in operations management, construction management, or a related field is an asset.
- Maintain operational compliance across WSIB, MOL, CVOR, and relevant certifications.

Pay: $150,000.00-$200,000.00 per year
