Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and organized Dispatcher to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will coordinate the movement of waste loads and manage transportation schedules. Duties

Schedule and assign loads to maximize truck utilization and minimize downtime

- Monitor driver progress throughout the day and adjust routes as needed due to traffic, weather, landfill delays, or equipment issues
- Maintain constant communication with drivers via phone or dispatch software
- Ensure all transfer stations receive timely service according to customer requirements
- Track truck locations and monitor completed loads throughout each shift
- Respond quickly to breakdowns, accidents, and other operational issues by reallocating trucks and notifying management
- Maintain accurate records of dispatched loads, haul tickets, landfill tickets, and driver activity
- Verify that drivers complete required paperwork accurately and submit documentation at the end of each shift
- Coordinate with the maintenance department to schedule repairs and minimize equipment downtime
- Monitor driver hours of service and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable transportation regulations




- Communicate customer requests, schedule changes, and special instructions to drivers
- Assist with planning staffing levels and truck assignments based on daily workload
- Prepare daily production reports, including loads completed, equipment utilization, and any operational issues
- Maintain professional relationships with landfill personnel and transfer station staff
- Ensure drivers follow all company safety procedures and report incidents immediately
- Handle after-hours dispatch responsibilities when required
- Participate in daily operations meetings and provide updates on fleet performance

Skills

- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in trucking, waste management, logistics, or dispatching.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge of GPS tracking and dispatch software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and basic computer applications.
- Familiarity with commercial trucking regulations and Hours of Service is an asset.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with drivers, customers, and landfill personnel.

Pay: $22.00-$26.50 per hour
