Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Drywall Taper to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying joint compound, sanding, and finishing drywall surfaces to create smooth, seamless walls and ceilings that meet high-quality standards. Your expertise will help transform raw construction spaces into polished environments, contributing to the overall aesthetic and structural integrity of our projects.

Responsibilities

- Apply joint compound (mud) accurately over drywall seams, fasteners, and imperfections using taping knives and other tools
- Sand finished surfaces smoothly to prepare for painting or further finishing work
- Install drywall sheets according to project specifications, ensuring proper alignment and secure fastening
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure precise application of finishing techniques
- Perform caulking around joints, corners, and trim to achieve a clean, professional look




- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and debris removal throughout the project
- Collaborate with carpenters, painters, and other trades to ensure seamless project progression

Requirements

- Proven experience in construction painting, drywall finishing, or related trades
- Knowledge of construction processes and general carpentry skills
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately
- Experience with caulking, sanding, and applying joint compound efficiently
- Handyman experience is a plus, demonstrating versatility on job sites
- Robust attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, lift heavy materials, and work in various environmental conditions
