Do you love engineering, infrastructure, and creating solutions that shape the future? We do!
At Trylon, we build rugged towers, engineered structures, and the smart accessories that make them work. For over 90 years we’ve delivered cutting-edge products and construction services—and we’re still evolving. We’re expanding into new sectors and exploring opportunities where our expertise in infrastructure and manufacturing can make a difference.
If you thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and want a chance to make your mark in multiple markets, we’d love to meet you.
We offer:
- Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits, including a matching Group RRSP
- Real opportunities for career growth — your success drives our success
- Strong visibility within Trylon
Trylon is replacing its legacy Infor VISUAL ERP with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, and we're hiring the developer who will build and implement that platform from the inside — then stay on to own and grow it technically.
This is deliberately not an outsourced project. Rather than hand our most critical business system to a partner and lose the knowledge when the engagement ends, we want a hands-on developer embedded in our team who can configure and extend Business Central based on decisions made in discovery and be the internal technical expert people come to for years afterward.
You'll take requirements and process decisions from discovery and turn them into a working, well-built system — configuration, code, integrations, data migration, and long-term support.
If you like building and owning a system end to end — configuration, code, integrations, go-live, and long-term support — this role is built for you.
What you'll do:
ERP implementation (primary focus)
- Support the implementation of D365 Business Central to replace Infor VISUAL, executing on requirements and decisions from discovery.
- Translate current-state VISUAL processes and discovery outcomes into Business Central configuration,
extensions, or workarounds as appropriate.
- Configure core financials (GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, banking, reporting) and the operational modules.
- Plan and execute data migration from VISUAL — chart of accounts, customers, vendors, items, BOMs, routings, open transactions, and historical data — including cleansing, mapping, and validation.
- Implement the manufacturing and supply chain side of Business Central for our shop: production BOMs and routings, capacity and machine centres, production orders, planning/MRP, purchasing, inventory, warehousing, and costing.
- Evaluate and implement third-party add-ons/ISV solutions where they beat custom development (manufacturing execution, shop floor data collection, EDI, document management, reporting).
- Own testing (unit, integration, UAT), cutover planning, documentation, and hypercare through go-live.
Development and integrations
- Build extensions and customizations in AL for Business Central, following Microsoft's extension model and upgrade-safe practices.
- Design and build integrations between Business Central and our other business systems using APIs, web services, and Azure services.
- Partner with our in-house software developer, sharing BC knowledge so development capacity is shared rather than siloed.
- Build reporting and analytics outputs (Business Central reports, Power BI, Excel/Jet-style reporting) that give Finance and Operations the numbers they need.
Ongoing ownership
- Serve as the internal technical expert and escalation point for Business Central after go-live.
- Implement enhancement requests, manage release/update cycles,
and drive continuous improvement of the platform.
- Maintain documentation, configuration records, and training materials.
- Coordinate with Microsoft and any implementation or ISV partners we engage for specialized work.
What we're looking for:
Required
- Hands-on experience implementing or supporting Dynamics 365 Business Central (or Dynamics NAV) — a full implementation, a major module rollout, or substantial in-house support and enhancement work all count.
- Robust functional configuration skills across finance and at least one operational area (manufacturing, supply chain, purchasing, or inventory).
- Development capability: AL extension development for Business Central, or a strong programming background plus demonstrated ability to pick up AL quickly.
- Experience with data migration into an ERP — mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.
- Experience building or supporting integrations via REST/OData APIs, web services, or middleware.
- Ability to work with business users to clarify requirements and translate decisions into system design, plus train end users.
- Self-directed and comfortable being the go-to technical expert in a small IT team without a bench of specialists behind you.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
Strongly preferred:
- Manufacturing industry experience — discrete manufacturing, engineered/make-to-order, or project-based production.
- Experience implementing Business Central manufacturing modules (production BOMs, routings, MRP/planning, capacity, costing).
- Migration experience from a legacy ERP such as Infor VISUAL, Epicor, Made2Manage, or similar.
- Power BI or Business Central reporting tools.
- Microsoft certifications in Business Central functional consulting or developer tracks.
- Experience with Azure services, Microsoft 365, or Entra ID in an integrated environment.
- Familiarity with ISV/add-on evaluation and implementation.
