Position Overview
The Early Learning Centre Manager is responsible for the daily operations and administration of the Early Learning Centre, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can thrive. The successful candidate will oversee staffing, licensing compliance, family communication, enrolment, and the day-to-day operations that keep the centre running smoothly.

- Valid ECE Certification (SN/IT certification considered an asset).
Key Responsibilities
As the Early Learning Centre Manager, you will provide leadership and oversight for the daily operations of our licensed childcare program while fostering a positive, collaborative culture for children, families, and staff.
Leadership & Compliance
- Provide strong leadership that reflects Murrayville Academy's mission, values, and commitment to excellence.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable legislation, licensing regulations, and Fraser Health requirements.
- Serve as the primary liaison with Child Care Licensing.
- Monitor classroom environments to ensure licensing standards, health and safety requirements, staff-to-child ratios, and program expectations are consistently maintained.
- Identify facility maintenance and operational needs and communicate them to the Executive Director.
- Support emergency preparedness, including fire drills, emergency supplies, and safety procedures.
Operations & Administration
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Early Learning Centre, ensuring efficient and organized administrative practices.
- Maintain accurate child and staff records while ensuring confidentiality and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate enrolment processes, registration, waitlists, classroom transitions, attendance records, and program documentation.
- Manage operational supplies, classroom resources, field trip planning, and centre-wide administrative systems.
- Support volunteer coordination and maintain required documentation.
Staff Leadership
- Recruit, interview, onboard, mentor, and support Early Childhood Educators and support staff.
- Develop staff schedules that maintain licensing ratios while meeting operational needs.
- Manage staff absences, vacation requests, substitute coverage, and time-off tracking.
- Conduct staff meetings, performance evaluations, and ongoing coaching to promote professional growth.
- Foster a collaborative, respectful, and positive workplace culture built on accountability and teamwork.
Family & Community Engagement
- Build strong, trusting relationships with current and prospective families through exceptional communication and customer service.
- Lead centre tours, enrolment meetings, and program transition meetings with families.
- Respond professionally to parent questions, concerns, and feedback while working collaboratively with educators to ensure positive outcomes.
- Communicate regularly with families through newsletters, email updates, and ongoing centre communications.
- Collaborate with support workers, community professionals,
and external agencies to support children's individual needs.
Program Excellence
- Support and oversee the implementation of our Reggio Emilia and Montessori-inspired learning philosophy.
- Ensure classrooms provide engaging, developmentally appropriate learning environments.
- Promote continuous improvement in programming, documentation, and overall quality of care.
- Work closely with the Executive Director to support the strategic growth and long-term success of the Early Learning Centre.
Qualifications
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certification required.
- Infant & Toddler Certification is considered an asset.
- Montessori and/or Reggio Emilia training is considered an asset.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Clear Criminal Record Check.
- Physician's statement confirming fitness to perform job duties.
- Professional references.
- Up-to-date immunization records.
Compensation & Benefits

Compensation includes:
- Annual salary : $58,000.00, based on a 37.5-hour work week.
