Particles is a Vancouver family community and children's enrichment studio, where caregivers connect and recharge alongside their children. Inspired by Montessori values, we create thoughtful spaces where children explore, play, and learn — while caregivers build meaningful community. Our programs focus on curiosity, creativity, hands-on learning, and warm, respectful experiences for young children and their families.
We're opening this year and building our founding team. We're looking for a qualified, warm early childhood educator to lead our children's programming and bring our sessions to life.
The role — and how it grows
This is a founding, part-time role designed to grow with us. At launch, you'll lead our early sessions a few days a week; as our schedule and enrolment build, the role expands with more hours and scope — a genuine path to grow with the studio.
As our educator, you are the person responsible for the children's learning and wellbeing in your sessions: planning and delivering developmentally appropriate, play-based, child-led experiences for mixed-age groups (roughly ages 3–6), with caregivers present. You'll shape the daily rhythm of the classroom and set the tone families feel when they walk in.
What you'll do
- Plan and lead hands-on, play-based, child-led enrichment sessions (art, reading, movement, and more)
- Create a calm, engaging, developmentally appropriate environment for young children
- Observe and support each child's growth, curiosity, and social development
- Guide children warmly and respectfully, in the Montessori-inspired spirit
- Prepare materials and maintain a beautiful, organized classroom space
- Communicate with caregivers and families about their children's experiences
- Support family events and seasonal programs
- Help maintain a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment at all times
Who we're looking for (required)
You hold a recognized early childhood qualification. We welcome a range of backgrounds — you may be any of the following:
- A licensed ECE (Early Childhood Educator) in BC, or
- An ECE Assistant (ECEA) with relevant experience, or
- A Montessori-trained educator (Primary Guide or Montessori Assistant), or
- A qualified educator with equivalent early-childhood training and hands-on experience with young children
You will also need, or be willing to obtain before starting:
- A valid criminal record check, including vulnerable-sector screening
- Current First Aid / CPR (infant/child)
What makes someone a great fit
- Genuine warmth and patience with young children
- Experience leading groups of young children (classroom, program, or similar)
- Comfort with a mixed-age, parent-present, enrichment setting (rather than a traditional full-day school or daycare)
- Reliability, robust communication, and a collaborative, founding-team spirit
- A love of play-based, child-led learning
Nice to have (not required)
- Full AMI/AMS Montessori Primary Guide training
- Bilingual ability
- Experience with children's yoga, music, art, or trauma-informed practice
Why join Particles
