Status: Full-Time, Permanent (37.5 Hours); Part-Time schedules will be considered at the candidate’s request

Hours: 8.5-hour shifts (between 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM) with a half-hour unpaid lunch

Compensation: $25.00 – $28.00 per hour (Based on credentials and experience, aligned to CWELCC)

About the Opportunity

Are you ready to be part of something new? The Centre Wellington Child Care Co-op is opening two brand-new, licensed non-profit sites serving toddlers and preschoolers. We are looking for passionate Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECEs)to join our founding team.

As an educator in our centre, you aren't just following a curriculum; you are helping to build a community. You will be assigned to a single, dedicated site (no commuting between locations during the day) and work alongside a supportive team of professionals and a "working" Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities

- Classroom Excellence: Implement high-quality programming for either a Toddler (15 children) or Preschool (16 children) room based on the How Does Learning Happen? framework.
- Collaborative Teaching: Work in a team environment (RECE/ECA mix).
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and a welcoming environment for student educators on practicum placements and community volunteers.
- Family Partnership: Build authentic, professional relationships with our cooperative’s families, keeping them informed of their child’s growth and daily discoveries.
- Health & Safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment in our freshly renovated facilities, adhering to all CCEYA and Public Health regulations.

Qualifications

- RECE: Member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
- Clearance: Current Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) and up-to-date immunizations (including TB test).
- Safety: Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C. Safe food handlers certificate.
- Physicality: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, sit on the floor, bend, and move quickly to ensure child safety.
