About Us Welcome to Early Minds Preschool, a place where curiosity is celebrated, and play is our love language! We believe that children are natural researchers, explorers, and creators. Our centre is a warm, joyful community where both kids and educators thrive together.
We are looking for an inspiring, big-hearted Program Leader to guide our classroom team. If you love stepping into a leadership role while getting down on the floor, getting messy with art,
and helping both children and co-teachers grow, we would love to welcome you to the Early Minds family!
What You'll Do Every Day
- Lead the Learning: Take charge of watching what the children are interested in and lead your classroom team in building a flexible, fun curriculum using play based hands on learning.
- Design Creative Spaces: Guide the setup of welcoming classroom stations that invite children aged 2 to 6 to explore, take safe risks, and play with structured open-ended materials.
- Champion Safety & Care: Ensure your classroom team keeps a close, caring eye on our mixed-age group, making sure everyone follows Alberta Child Care Licensing Regulations.
- Oversee Milestones: Coordinate child evaluations three times a year to track growth, celebrate achievements, and ensure high-quality documentation is shared with families.
- Model Positive Guidance: Set the tone for helping children navigate big emotions with gentle words and positive guidance, mentoring your team on best practices.
- Build Strong Connections: Welcome parents with a smile, handle family communications with empathy, and serve as the main point of contact for your program room.
- Mentor Your Team: Lift up, guide, and collaborate with your assistant teachers and co-workers, creating a positive, organized, and joyful team dynamic.
The Qualities We Care About Most
- Spark of Creativity: We want a truly creative soul who can see a cardboard box and turn it into a spaceship! You love thinking outside the box, bringing fresh, imaginative ideas to the classroom every single day.
- A True Team Player: Collaboration is everything to us. You work beautifully alongside your co-teachers, communicate openly, and believe that we are all stronger when we support each other.
- Rock-Solid Reliability: Young children thrive on routine and familiarity. We need a dependable leader who arrives on time every day, ready to welcome our families with a consistent, reassuring presence.
- True Passion for Play: An educator who genuinely loves child-led learning and sees meaning in everyday play moments.
What You Must Have to Apply (Mandatory Requirements)
- Clear Background Checks: A current, clear Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search (completed within the last 6 months) must be provided before your start date.
- Up-to-Date First Aid: A valid Standard Childcare First Aid and CPR Level B or C certification.
- Alberta ECE Certification: A valid Alberta ECE Level 2 (Child Development Worker) or Level 3 (Child Development Supervisor) certificate.
- Leadership Experience: Experience working in a licensed play-based curriculum setting, with a proven ability to lead a classroom team.
- Energy and Warmth: The physical stamina to run, jump, sit on the floor, and lift up to 40 lbs, combined with excellent communication skills.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
