Heritage Christian Online School is a thriving online learning community offering K-12 home and online education to students across the province. HCOS provides flexible solutions and programming tailored to every child’s learning journey.

HCOS Education Assistants are independent contractors who provide program support, behaviour and academic interventions, and encouragement to Home Learners within the Inclusive Education Department.

The Position:

We are seeking a dynamic Education Assistant to work on-site one day per week in our Kamloops Community Connections class for the 2026/27 school year. This is a part-time contract position that may grow in hours over the course of the school year, depending on student needs and EA skill sets.

- Location: Kamloops, BC
- Grades 3-6 class
- Schedule: Wednesdays, 9:45 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.
- Hours: 5+ hours per week

As an Education Assistant, your duties and responsibilities will include:

- Supporting the social, spiritual and academic learning needs of students, providing mentorship to the whole person
- Connecting with students individually or in small groups
- Collaborating with the teaching staff and the parent to support personalized learning opportunities
- Assisting in carrying out IEP goals, working alongside the broader student support team

We are looking for someone with the following qualities:

- Background working in Education, EA Support,



Behaviour Intervention, or with children/youth
- Professionals with non-EA specific credentials are encouraged to also apply (e.g., psychology, behaviour analysis, social work, coaching, mathematics, etc.)
- A valid Certified Educational Assistant certificate (or training in process) is considered an asset

- Teachable, humble, self-reflective, and encouraging

- Technologically proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Zoom, etc.

What we offer:

- Competitive Wage: $23.97 – $28.13 hourly depending on certification and experience
- Contractor model
