Entry-Level Audio Visual (A/V) Technician
Location: Fraser Valley
Job Type: Part Time
Compensation: $23.00–$25.00 per hour

We're looking for a motivated, customer-focused Entry-Level Audio Visual (A/V) Technician to join our event technology team. Whether supporting corporate meetings, conferences, banquets, weddings, or special events, you'll play an important role in delivering exceptional experiences for our clients and guests.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys technology, hands-on work, and providing outstanding customer service. You'll receive on-the-job training while gaining experience with professional audio, video, lighting, and presentation systems in hotel, conference centre, and live event environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, test, operate, and dismantle audiovisual equipment for meetings, conferences, banquets, and special events.
- Support audio systems, wireless microphones, projectors, LED displays, confidence monitors, video conferencing platforms, presentation systems, and basic lighting equipment.
- Perform pre-event equipment testing and ensure all systems are functioning properly before guests arrive.
- Provide professional, courteous technical support to presenters, meeting planners, hotel staff, and event clients throughout each event.
- Troubleshoot technical issues quickly and calmly while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Coordinate with Conference Services, Banquets, Sales, Event Managers, and fellow technicians to ensure successful event execution.
- Load, unload, transport,
and organize equipment as required.
- Maintain equipment, keep storage areas organized, and report equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
- Follow company safety procedures while maintaining a clean, organized work environment.
Qualifications
- Interest in audiovisual technology, live events, or hospitality.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn new technologies.
- Qualified appearance and positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and working on your feet for extended periods.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
- Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and presentation software.
- Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, theatre, IT, construction, or live events is an asset but not required.
Preference Given to those with Experience with the following
- Professional Audio: Behringer and Midas digital consoles, NEXO, RCF, Bose Professional and Electro-Voice sound systems, Shure and Sennheiser wireless microphones, and Dante audio networking.
- Video & Streaming: Panasonic and Christie projection,
professional displays, LED video walls, NovaStar processing, vMix, BirdDog PTZ cameras, NDI, and Blackmagic Design video equipment.
- Lighting & Control: Professional LED and intelligent lighting, Obsidian ONYX, DMX, and Bitfocus Companion.
- Networking & Event Technology: Ubiquiti UniFi networking, AV-over-IP systems, computers, signal distribution, and other professional event technology.
