I. Job SummaryTheSafety Manager/Trainerplans and directs all onsite Safety related activities at client location in relation to the storage, transportation and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes and other related services following federal, provincial & local regulations.Schedule/Shift: This role will work M-F 3pm-11:30pm or will alternate 1 week of days/1 week of nightsII. Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.Works closely with Project Manager and supervisors and Sustainability Servies EH&S Teams to understand, support, and align safety strategy, goals, and objectives.Ensure compliance with client and government regulations by performing necessary inspections and reporting.Promote culture of safety by ensuring site personnel are properly trained to perform assigned duties and comply with safety, environmental, federal, state and local regulations.Lead All Safety/ISO Related Activities IncludingLead incident/injury investigationsEstablish/update JHAsEnsure quarterly training and monthly SATs are completeTrack safety points and ensure team members are up to dateComplete quarterly ISO SubmittalsUpdate ISO documents as neededComplete and submit weekly equipment reportingEnsure pre/post trip equipment inspections are completeEnsure al new hire onboarding and safety training (safety policies and procedures including HECP)Complete new hire equipment training (including forklift etc.) are completedCoordinate new employee participation in EHS OrientationIII.



Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThe highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is the management of supervisory employees. This includes:Indirect supervision of approximately 10 to 40 full-time operations level employees.IV. QualificationsThe requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.Education and ExperienceEducation: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Environmental Sciences, Accounting, Business or related field, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience.Experience: Two (2) years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement).Preferred Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other RequirementsCanadian Registered Safety Professional.Certified Health and Safety ConsultantCertified Safety ProfessionalOther Knowledge, Skills or Abilities RequiredSupervisory and team building skills.Creative problem solving and innovative thinker.Effective and concise communication.Adept decision making.Strategic thinking.Strong leadership and relationship building skills.Self-motivated and directed with a keen sense of urgency to deliver results.Work Environment Listed below are key points regarding environmental demands and work environment of the job.

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for bonus.
