Company description The mission of Amal Youth and Family Centre is to provide a range of innovative services responsive to the needs of individuals, families and communities. Amal aims to provide trauma-informed, neuro-diverse, and culturally, racially, linguistically, and developmentally sensitive services for youth and families, and to promote diversity in all forms with respect to citizenship status, culture, religion, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexuality, age, and ability.

Family Engagement Worker(s)

(Full-time, permanent)

Family Engagement Workers provide support to families in a variety of ways, including direct intervention in the home and community; respite; and supervised access. Intervention is individualized to the young people and families, most of whom have complex needs and/or developmental challenges.

Qualifications: The successful applicant(s) must be creative, innovative, self-aware, confident, adaptable, and adaptable. A diploma/degree in child and youth care, social work or a related field,



experience working with young people and families with complex needs, or an equivalent combination of the two is required. Applicants must have experience successfully de-escalating crisis situations. Knowledge and understanding of family systems theory and trauma informed intervention is a necessity.

The position also requires a clear Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check from the RNC or RCMP; Child Protection Record Check; First Aid/CPR certification; valid Driver’s license and use of a private vehicle while at work. Successful candidates must submit valid proof of residency.
