Overview

We are an established pedigree seed farm located near Josephburg, Alberta, just east of Fort Saskatchewan. We are a generational farm in Strathcona County, with land stretching across the county. Some of the things we farm are canola, wheat, fababeans and peas, with the seed business, require a keen sense of detail and precision on cleanliness and safety.

We are looking for a Class 1 operator to drive truck from the field to our bin yards and partake in other tasks as required during our harvest period. The applicant will need to be okay with long, strenuous hours, but understand it is short-term, and will end once the harvest is off.

With this job, the applicant needs to be willing to do more than just drive. In farming, we run into all kinds of tasks, and the applicant must be willing to help with mechanics, cleaning and moving equipment, and be willing to learn other tasks.

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver with a clean Class 1 licence to join our farm harvest team. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting freight safely and efficiently to various locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to operate heavy equipment. This position requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage time effectively while adhering to all regulations.

Duties





- Operate commercial vehicles to transport grain to designated locations in a timely manner.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload grain from truck to grain bin using augers
- Communicate effectively with other harvest staff, and follow directions as given
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while on the road.
- This job requires a willingness to learn and take direction
- Mechanical skills are highly regarded

Qualifications

- Farm experience considered a massive asset
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.
- Experience in commercial driving with a clean driving record is essential.
- Familiarity with freight handling procedures and regulations is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of automotive repair techniques is beneficial for maintaining the vehicle.
- Robust communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must be able to pass background checks and drug screenings as required by company policy.

Job Type: Seasonal

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
