Ascent Helicopters is a dynamic helicopter charter company in Parksville, BC with a 21-year history of domestic and international operations. Ascent offers specialized services to the aerial/powerline industry and is the province wide provider of Air Ambulance services to BCEHS. We also have a long and proud history in wildfire suppression, search and rescue, heli-skiing, mining/natural resource, tourism and film/television.

Job Summary The Flight Follower plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of flight schedules and communications between various stakeholders. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment. This schedule for this position is a rolling 4 days on/off, 8am-6pm each day.

Duties

- Monitor the progress of all company flights using flight tracking systems.
- Maintain real-time awareness of weather conditions and other operational factors.
- Communicate updates and support to flight crews as needed.
- Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and ground staff to ensure seamless flight execution.
- Respond to irregular operations (delays, diversions, cancellations) and assist in resolving issues quickly.
- Maintain accurate and timely flight logs and communications.

Experience

- A strong interest in aviation and operational safety.

- A strong Team Player with a willingness to learn and grow.




- Excellent communication skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Previous experience in flight following, dispatch, or aviation operations is an asset.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
