Based at Goldboro Gold Project office in Goldboro, NS, we currently have an exciting prospect for an Environmental Technician Co-op Student to join our NexGold team, reporting to the Director of Environment or designate.The Environment Technician will work within the environment team to implement environmental field programs in support of the Goldboro Gold Project. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to safety and excellence, while also applying environmental management skills to the role, conducting field sampling programs and protocols, including relevant reporting requirements in a timely basis. This opportunity requires supporting protocols to meet/or exceed environmental performance standards and demonstrate a high degree of initiative and organizational skills in all weather conditions.NexGold is committed to advancing economic reconciliation and supporting Mi'kmaq participation in all phases of the Goldboro Project. We encourage applicants to self-identify to aid our prioritization of applicants based on these commitments.Key ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate a commitment to safety and excellenceWork and communicate within a team environment towards well-defined objectivesComplete field sampling programs such as surface water quality sampling, groundwater quality sampling and stream flow measurements and ensure all environmental sampling protocols are observed, input into a variety of programs and reported on a timely basis.Support an understanding of environmental performance within the site team and promote a culture which meets or exceeds protocols.Advocate company performance internally as well as to our stakeholders, as required.Analyze, interpret,



and manage environmental data to ensure quality standards are met.Aid in the preparation of internal and external environmental documents; andAdditionalresponsibilities or tasks as assigned from time to time.What You BringMust HavesEnrolled in a Co-op program from recognized College or University in Canada.Currently taking a technical degree or diploma in an applicable environmental or related field.Pass a pre-employment fit test and periodic fit test assessmentsCompetent in using Microsoft suite of products, including communication and data entry platforms.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Physically able to walk 5-7 kilometers in uneven terrain regularly.Ability to lift 35+ pounds regularlyAbility to perform physically demanding tasks (e.G., hiking and carrying field equipment).Ability and willingness to work outdoors on rough terrain in all weather conditionsCapacity to work to tight deadlines with evolving priorities.Ability to handle a high level of confidentiality.Valid driver’s license.Acceptable Criminal Record Check; andMeet the eligibility criteria for grant program funding:Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident of Canada,
